• Smythson watermarked pale blue Featherweight paper with 128 leaves of feint ruled lines. Featherweight paper is half the thickness and weight (50 grams per square metre) of normal paper so a great many pages can be contained in a very slim, light book. Normally such thin paper is not appropriate for use with a fountain pen but Featherweight paper is tested to ensure that it is strong and opaque enough to be used with fountain pens without bleed.
• Bound in grained lambskin a classic Smythson bookbinding leather in Nile Blue with silver blocking and silver edged leaves.
• 'NOTES' is blocked on the front cover to which a name, initials or motif can be added.
• The book cover can be silver-stamped with a name or initials.
