This Christmas, we celebrate the art of giving and the moments that follow – what happens when a gift has been chosen with care and received with gratitude. Our 2025 story, built around the sentiment “Thoughtfully Made, Meaningfully Given,” honours both the gift giver and the recipient, capturing the genuine exchanges that make every gift memorable.
At the heart of this year’s story is the handwritten note – those simple, authentic expressions of thanks that follow every Smythson blue box. Each note captures the ways people show appreciation, from a few carefully chosen words to a short, heartfelt message that links directly to the gift itself, and through the act of writing reflects Smythson’s heritage in stationery, craftsmanship, and thoughtful expression.
The story unfolds through a series of stop-motion videos, each centred on a Smythson gift. They highlight the thoughtful details that make every gift feel personal – from the wrapping to the recipient’s handwritten note of thanks. Meticulously filmed frame by frame, the stop-motion approach mirrors the care and precision of Smythson’s own craftsmanship, bringing to life the gestures and touches that define each gift.
