- Returns Information
Merchandise in a new and saleable condition may be returned for exchange or refund within 28 days of purchase. Items must be accompanied by the original documentation. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Once your return is received by our Customer Service team, we will aim to process it within 28 days.
For refunds or exchanges on in-store purchases, please refer to the details on your store receipt.
Please ensure that all Smythson.com returns sent to our Customer Service dept are handled by an insured carrier. Smythson cannot be held liable for any returned items that fail to arrive. Smythson will not be liable for any customs or duties charges incurred when returning goods.
Any goods that are returned outside of the return period, damaged or worn or sent without the original documentation will not be accepted and will be returned to the customer.
Please be advised that we are not able to accept any form of refund or exchange for personalised stationery or personalised leather products.
Gift recipients are entitled to a merchandise exchange or online gift card. Exchanges will only be offered, at the current retail price, for products in perfect condition, with the original packaging, for non-discontinued collections or lines.
This policy does not affect your statutory rights.
Extended Christmas Returns Period
Gifts purchased between 18th November and Christmas Eve may be refunded or exchanged until 5th January with a valid receipt. This applies in standalone stores and on Smythson.com.
Online Returns Process
As COVID-19 escalates, we have had to make amendments to our return policy, and will not longer be able to offer a complimentary return service until further notice.
We are happy to accept returns from customers from all over the world in line with the above returns policy. Items must be returned within 28 days from the date of purchase. Unfortunately, we cannot take responsibility for any postage, custom and duties charges that your return may incur. .

- To make a return from outside the UK or EU:
- Fill out the delivery form provided with your items.
- Re-package the item/s you’d like to return.
- Post the package to: Frank Smythson Limited, Goods In, Units 1,2 Birch, Kembrey Park, Swindon, SN2 8UU, UK.
